Children's Book donations - collection and distribution

Every home needs to have books. Children benefit from observing and listening to others reading aloud, as well as from reading silently and to others. Children need books of their very own.

Over 30,000 children’s books are donated and distributed through CALC each year. We sort these books by reading level. In addition to providing reading materials for our READ to SUCCEED and Family School Partnership programs, we encourage children to select books to keep. We also give books to children of our adult students. We never have enough early reader (pre-primer) books. We purchase books at the best price possible with the help of monetary donations. We also accept donations of books. Books can be dropped off in our donation box at Schuler's in the Meridian Mall, at Erickson Hall on MSU Campus, or at our office.

CALC distributes books through laundromats, clinics, community events, school functions, and to other non-profit agencies serving at-risk children throughout our region.
